About the Role
What if you could shape a career as unique as you? At WSP, you can always find opportunities to grow and do what matters to you. Make the most of our global reach to discover new challenges and chances to work with diverse, talented individuals who will help you expand your horizons.

As a Principal Risk Consultant / Manager, you will deliver risk consulting assignments profitably and with positive feedback, lead and manage small consulting assignments where necessary, and contribute to the development of the practice.

Key responsibilities include managing effective risk management services on projects and/or workstreams within larger projects with minimal input from Associates/Directors, leading the development and presentation of client risk management deliverables, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders on corrective actions to mitigate threats and utilise opportunities in line with organisational processes. You will support project leaders in successful project delivery, coach more junior team members, work collaboratively to develop and expand WSP's Risk Management service offering, embed and share knowledge and best practice, and build professional networks to support business development activities.

The WSP Risk Management Team is a standalone function working across multiple industries, internally with WSP design teams and externally with clients. The team includes risk professionals with diverse backgrounds and seniority levels, based across UK offices including London, Cambridge, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Bristol, Glasgow, and international offices in Noida and Bengaluru. As part of a larger Global Risk Management team, we collaborate closely with colleagues in North America and the Middle East.

Collaboration and teamwork are fundamental, supported by regular Risk Community of Practice meetings to share challenges and best practices. The team actively pursues innovative ways of working and continuous improvement in service delivery.

Projects span nationwide and local initiatives supporting sustainable growth across the UK, with current projects also in Africa and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Sectors include highways, rail, aviation, energy, water, defence, waste, clean air, active travel, and more. Our clients include industry leaders, local enterprise companies, and local government organisations, enabling us to support growth and opportunity.

We invite you to join us and contribute to meaningful projects that make a difference.
