About the Role
The London Borough of Hounslow is seeking a Project Manager to join the Climate team within the Strategy and Transformation directorate. You will play a key role in delivering the council’s Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP) 2026-2030, focusing on reducing wider borough emissions, promoting growth, ensuring a just transition, and making the borough resilient to climate change impacts.

Your responsibilities will include developing and leading a diverse portfolio of projects such as Hounslow’s Community Energy Fund, schools’ decarbonisation programme, Climate Change Resilience Plan, Hounslow Green Investment, and supporting the management of the Carbon Offset Fund and the Climate Investment Board. You will also provide support on projects like the Hounslow Heat Network and the Strategic Energy Partnership.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, collaborating regularly with internal and external stakeholders under the direction of the Head of Net Zero Delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to transformative environmental change in one of London’s most diverse boroughs, supported by visionary leadership and a dynamic, can-do culture.

Requirements

Experience
Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale, complex environmental, net zero, or sustainability projects. Experience applying project management methodologies throughout the full project lifecycle in complex environments.

Strong knowledge of environmental policy, legislation, and regulations related to low carbon infrastructure development and delivery.

Skilled in partnership working across public and private sectors, with experience engaging funders and government departments in political environments.

Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships with external consultants and stakeholders.

About you
A skilled communicator capable of influencing a wide range of non-technical stakeholders at various organisational levels to enable successful project delivery.

A champion of the council’s values with an open mind towards solutions, a willingness to listen to diverse voices, and the ability to embrace and understand the complexity of tackling the climate emergency.

Committed to serving the diverse community of Hounslow and supporting an inclusive and equitable workplace.
