Salary
Base salary: c£59,268 to £69,727 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, a flexible benefits fund of 20% is paid on top of base salary and is fully pensionable, along with a range of competitive benefits.
About the Role
As the Project Manager for Rail Systems High Voltage (HV) Power projects at HS2, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of contracts to time, budget, scope, and quality. You will lead the delivery of critical HV power infrastructure, managing complex interfaces across design, construction, testing, and commissioning to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient project outcomes. Joining HS2 at an exciting stage, you will contribute to one of Europe's most significant rail infrastructure programmes, providing essential power systems for the UK's new high-speed railway.
You will provide project management support to System Delivery Project Integration Senior Project Managers and the Head of Delivery for allocated tasking. Your responsibilities include supporting the successful delivery of Railway Systems objectives, interfacing with relevant stakeholders, horizon scanning and mitigation identification, managing change and scope impacts, and escalating issues as required.
You will support robust reporting on project deliverables, assist in developing and maintaining project plans, identify and implement mitigating actions for potential milestone slippages, and coordinate integrated HS2 teams including matrixed members, agency staff, and consultants. Managing package contractors to ensure delivery to agreed schedule and quality, you will also ensure integration with other HS2 and Network Rail projects and undertake duties under NEC3 contracts.

Qualifications
- Degree level qualification or equivalent NVQ in project management, engineering, commercial management, or equivalent experience
- Project management knowledge aligned to APM Project Manager level
- Understanding of risk identification and management
- Understanding of project schedule management, dependencies, and risk assessment
- Knowledge of railway systems and/or power systems is advantageous
