About the Role
Green Action Trust (GAT) is Scotland's leading environmental regeneration charity and a trusted delivery partner for the Scottish Government as well as a wide range of public, private and non-profit stakeholders. We provide bespoke end-to-end project solutions to address climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental inequality. The Trust manages and drives forward the delivery of the Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN), one of the most ambitious blue-green infrastructure programmes in Europe.
We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to lead a project working with local authorities to accelerate the implementation of Nature Networks across Scotland. This role involves managing stakeholder engagement and producing habitat improvement development briefs for sites within Nature Network corridors.
Between 2025-2026, GAT delivered the Nature Network Pilot on behalf of the Scottish Government and NatureScot, identifying barriers to implementation, advancing local progress across selected local authorities and capturing learning for wider application. The primary focus of this role will be the Project Management of Nature Networks (NN) Phase II.
The ideal candidate will have strong project management, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to delivering positive outcomes for nature and local communities. A solid understanding of relevant policy and national strategy frameworks is essential.
Experience
Proven experience in project management, preferably within environmental or nature-based projects. Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders including local authorities and government bodies.
About you
Committed to environmental regeneration and biodiversity enhancement. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster partnerships and deliver outcomes. Motivated by achieving positive impacts for nature and local communities.
Qualifications
A relevant degree or professional qualification in environmental management, ecology, project management or a related field is desirable. A solid understanding of Scottish environmental policy and national strategy frameworks is essential.
