About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and contribute to one of the UK’s largest and most exciting megaprojects, at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.
The Quality Engineer (QE) will support and ensure compliance with Sizewell C Project quality requirements across the full project lifecycle, including Contract award, Design, Procurement, Manufacture, Test, Shipping, Construction/Installation, Test/Commission, and Contract close out.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and documentation: supporting development of quality (QA/QC) arrangements, preparing and maintaining Project Quality Control Plans (PQCPs), producing quality-related documentation, implementing the Quality execution plan, and supporting supplier quality requirements.
- Supply chain assurance and governance: reviewing and monitoring Contractor Quality Assurance Plans (CQAPs), providing guidance on CQAPs and Quality Related Activities, supporting supply chain audits, and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
- Inspection, surveillance, and testing: coordinating construction surveillance activities, reviewing supplier inspection and test plans (ITPs), and participating in inspections and audits.
- LTQR and records management: ensuring deployment of key contractual quality requirements, coordinating LTQR reviews, and tracking LTQR provision.
- Review, acceptance, and close-out: supporting review and acceptance of construction documentation, monitoring non-conformances, and assisting with end of construction and erection status reports.

Experience
- Proven experience working in a quality assurance/control environment within the nuclear industry or other relevant safety critical industry.
- Experience implementing a variety of quality-related solutions.
- Proven track record of delivering results.
- Experience performing supplier audits.
- Proven experience interacting with and resolving issues among a wide range of stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.

Qualifications
An HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
