As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work on the full project life cycle of large-scale Civil Engineering infrastructure projects across the Sustainability programme. Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will develop and maintain cost plans and estimates for smaller projects (typically up to £10 million) or support senior colleagues on larger projects. You will manage project budgets ensuring value for money, handle all contract communications including Early Warnings, Project Manager's Instructions and Compensation Events, and manage disputes through negotiation and escalation.
You will also support tendering and evaluation processes, select appropriate procurement strategies and contracts, and produce pre-tender estimates. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in projects from inception through to completion, delivering what matters to our passengers.
Experience
- Previous experience in cost engineering, contract management or commercial roles within construction or infrastructure sectors, working on projects typically over £10 million
- Experience with MEP projects
- Full working knowledge of web-based contract management tools (e.g. Cemar)
- Thorough understanding of NEC and JCT contracts, including contract administration and negotiations

Qualifications
- Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent in engineering, construction, or business-related field
- MRICS or equivalent professional qualification
