About the Role
Join Forestry England, the country’s largest land manager, dedicated to caring for the nation’s forests for people, nature and the economy. As a Recreation Manager, you will be a key member of the Recreation team supporting Forest Centre Managers in managing and developing the recreation offer. Your role will focus on connecting more people with the nation’s forests while delivering sustainable finances. You will help progress projects across the district that improve financial sustainability or enhance visitor experiences. The South England Forest District manages 46,000 hectares of public forest estate, much of which is nationally and internationally important for nature conservation and biodiversity. You will also be expected to join the District duty roster following a suitable induction period. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to creating amazing places and experiences, supporting wildlife habitats, and promoting sustainable forest management.

Requirements

Experience
Relevant experience in recreation management, project delivery or related fields is desirable. Experience working within environmental, forestry or public sector organisations is advantageous.

You have strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. You are adaptable, motivated to improve services, and committed to sustainable forest management. Qualifications
There are no specific qualification requirements stated, but relevant professional qualifications or experience in forestry, recreation, environmental management or related disciplines will be beneficial.
