Full Time - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A 6% flat rate allowance is paid for any Sundays worked.

About the Role
Essex Waste Partnership aims to be a zero-waste county by reducing waste to protect the environment and conserve resources. Join our Recycling Centre Team as a full-time Site Operative at the South Woodham Ferrers Recycling Centre. Your key responsibilities will include assisting the public with queries and complaints, maintaining a clean and safe site, providing clear instructions to subcontractors and hauliers, operating plant machinery, overseeing waste movements, ensuring proper storage of materials for optimal recycling, and supporting safe and efficient site operations. You will also assist with administrative tasks as required. Occasionally, you may be asked to work at alternative Recycling Centres to support operations.

Experience
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Ability to work on foot for lengthy periods
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competent in manual handling tasks
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Willingness to learn new systems and complete necessary training such as First Aid, Plant Operator, and Fire Marshall

Reliable and motivated with a commitment to health and safety. Able to communicate effectively with the public and colleagues. Flexible to occasionally work at alternative sites as required.
Qualifications
- Desirable: Full Driving Licence
- Desirable: Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with good administration skills
- Desirable: IOSH Working Safely or equivalent safety accreditation
- Desirable: NPORS or similar Plant Operator Licence/Qualification on Material Handler, with previous experience operating plant machinery, preferably within the waste industry
