About the Role
The London Borough of Newham is recruiting for a Waste Collections HGV Driver to safely deliver a range of waste collection services across the borough. This role is physically demanding and requires operating a variety of vehicles and bin lift equipment. You will contribute directly to achieving a cleaner borough and support the Council in meeting its national environmental targets. The role involves driving the full range of Council vehicles, including HGVs, with some staff supervision responsibilities. The service operates between 06:00 and 22:00, Monday to Saturday, offering opportunities to work across different shifts.

Experience
Experience operating HGV vehicles and bin lift equipment is essential. The role is physically demanding and requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
A full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle operated is essential:
- Level 1 (C1 Licence) for vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes
- Level 2 (HGV 2 Licence) for larger vehicles
Skip or Clinical Waste Drivers will require an ADR Certificate.
Staff supervision experience is desirable but not mandatory.
