36 hours per week with shift patterns operating Monday to Saturday between 06:00 – 22:00. Opportunities available on both 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00 shifts.

Salary
£35,520 - £36,585 (Scale 6)

About the Role
Newham Council is recruiting for a Waste Collections HGV Driver to safely deliver a range of waste collection services across the borough. This role is physically demanding and requires operating a variety of vehicles and bin lift equipment. You will contribute directly to achieving a cleaner borough and supporting the Council’s delivery of its national environmental targets. The position includes responsibilities for driving the full range of Council vehicles, including HGVs, and may involve staff supervision duties.

Experience
Experience operating HGV vehicles and bin lift equipment is essential. Ability to work physically demanding shifts and adapt to varying operational requirements.

You must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively within a team. Flexibility to work different shifts Monday to Saturday is required. A commitment to contributing positively to the community and maintaining high standards of service delivery is important.

Qualifications
Full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle operated is essential:
- Level 1: Full driving licence for up to 7.5 tonne caged vehicles (C1 Licence)
- Level 2: HGV 2 Licence
- Level 3: HGV with staff supervision responsibilities
Skip or Clinical Waste Drivers will require an ADR Certificate.
