A renewable energy and retrofit contractor is recruiting a Resident Liaison Officer to support housing retrofit programmes in West London.
Role Overview
As a Resident Liaison Officer, you will be the main point of contact for residents while retrofit and renewable energy works take place in occupied properties. You will explain the planned works, arrange access and appointments, and keep residents informed throughout.
You will work with project and installation teams, Housing Associations and Local Authorities to coordinate works and resolve residents’ concerns.
Important Eligibility Information
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Recent experience as a Resident Liaison Officer.
- Approximately two years’ relevant experience.
- A full UK driving licence.
Your CV must clearly show your recent RLO experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Explain the works, timescales and what residents should expect.
- Arrange appointments, property access and installation dates.
- Visit residents before, during and after works where required.
- Keep residents informed of progress, changes and delays.
- Work with project managers, site managers and installation teams to coordinate works.
- Liaise with Housing Associations, Local Authorities and other client representatives.
- Identify residents who need additional support and help put arrangements in place.
- Handle queries and complaints, escalating issues where needed.
- Follow up where property access has not been secured.
- Keep accurate records of communications, appointments, access attempts, complaints and outcomes.
- Support handover and post-completion feedback.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in social housing, planned maintenance, construction or retrofit programmes.
- Experience dealing directly with residents in occupied properties.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle complaints and difficult conversations professionally.
- Good organisational, IT and administration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Flexibility around working hours when required.
Highly Desirable
- Experience working with Housing Associations or Local Authorities, particularly on large-scale retrofit, decarbonisation or energy-efficiency programmes.
- Experience on projects involving Solar PV, Air Source Heat Pumps, insulation or other energy-efficiency measures.
- Additional languages, particularly Punjabi, Romanian, Polish, Gujarati, Arabic, Urdu, Bengali/Sylheti or Somali.
- Vehicle for business use.
- Opportunities for development and progression.
- Work on Housing Association and Local Authority decarbonisation programmes.
Pay, Hours and Location
- Salary: £32,000 to £40,000 per year.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with some flexibility required.
- Contract: Full-time, permanent.
- Location: West London.
Interview Process
Two stages: an initial conversation on Teams, followed by a face-to-face interview in London.
