About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. In the energy sector, the UK will need to invest up to £900 billion of capital expenditure to enable a net zero economy by 2050. For our clients in this sector, this means delivering complex projects and programmes involving low-carbon technologies and infrastructure safely, efficiently, and at pace.
As a Risk Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the risk management performance and effective implementation of risk frameworks and strategies. You will contribute to team performance by driving results, delivering performance management, technical development, and coaching. Building strong professional relationships with clients and their representatives will be key.
Your duties will include providing advice and support to the Project team in administering the risk process, particularly regarding risks to achieving key objectives and escalating risks as necessary. You will facilitate and deliver risk workshops, work with the Project Manager to identify opportunities and mitigations to minimise risk exposure, and support risk management performance on assigned commissions.
You will ensure risk mitigation action plans are developed, owners appointed, and project plans updated and monitored. Supporting the delivery of project quantitative risk analysis (cost and time) and delivering monthly risk reports both externally to clients and internally to the Project team will be essential. You will also ensure all activities comply with Mace Control Centre, client requirements, and prevailing legislation.
Active engagement in integrating risk with PMO and Planning disciplines is expected, along with supporting more junior risk managers and other project staff. You will work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for proactively identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.
