This role is embedded within a major UK water company client, responsible for delivering water and wastewater services across England in an environmentally sustainable, economically beneficial, and socially responsible manner. You will plan and lead the successful delivery of a programme of works managed by an ‘Area delivery team’ comprising the client’s partners and contractors, ensuring alignment with corporate values and requirements including health and safety strategy, target operating model, and regulatory, customer, and resilience outcomes.
You will act as the interface between the area delivery team and the business at a senior level, managing internal and external stakeholders to ensure the capital programme is delivered successfully and in line with business strategy.

Experience
Technical professional with risk management experience.
General understanding of all aspects of cost management and promotion of value for money.
Knowledge of Mace way (control centre) processes and recommended tools.
Working knowledge of current methodologies and tools related to managing projects.
Experience leading negotiations with third parties as a cost management specialist.
Proven ability to respond effectively and sensitively to client and stakeholder requests.
Excellent attention to detail with ability to validate and check data and reports, providing basic commentary and analysis.
About you
Ability to design and develop risk management reports in core risk management tools to an intermediate level.
Experience managing others including delegating, coordinating, appraising, coaching, and mentoring less experienced employees.
Strong persuasion and influencing skills with clients, consultants, suppliers, and colleagues.
Ability to work collaboratively to create and deliver persuasive presentations.
Problem-solving skills to tackle issues without obvious solutions.
Professional representation of Mace at all times.
Relevant CSCS card.
Qualifications
Exposure to project risk management methodologies and delivery.
Successful interaction with a range of key stakeholders including clients and wider teams.
Progressing towards professional qualification (e.g. APM, MSP, PPC) in addition to mandatory training courses.
