About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey. In the energy sector, the UK will need to invest up to £900 billion of capital expenditure to enable a net zero economy by 2050. For our clients in the sector, this means delivering complex projects and programmes delivering low-carbon technologies and infrastructure and doing so safely, efficiently, and at pace.

As a Risk Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the risk management performance and effective implementation of risk framework(s) and strategy(s). You will contribute to team performance by driving results, delivering performance management, technical development, and coaching. Building strong professional relationships with clients and client representatives will be key.

Your duties will include providing advice and support to the Project team in administering the risk process, particularly regarding risks to achieving key objectives and the escalation of risks. You will facilitate and deliver risk workshops, work with the Project Manager to identify opportunities and mitigations to minimize risk exposure, and support risk management performance on assigned commissions.

You will ensure effective implementation of risk frameworks and strategies, develop risk mitigation action plans with appointed owners, and monitor project plans. Supporting the delivery of project quantitative risk analysis (cost and time) and delivering monthly risk reports both externally to clients and internally to the Project team will be part of your role. You will contribute to assessing the adequacy of contingency as part of the regular reporting cycle.

All activities must be carried out in line with Mace Control Centre, client requirements, and prevailing legislation. You will actively engage in integrating risk with PMO and Planning disciplines, support more junior risk managers and other project staff as required, and work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition. You will share responsibility for proactively identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.

Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates. We are open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options if suitable within the role.
