About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Climate Resilience team to play a leading role in delivering the Council’s commitments and strategic outcomes on climate change and the environment. You will lead on and support the development and delivery of actions set out in the Climate Resilience Delivery Plan. You will support the development and delivery of environmental policies and strategies. This role includes line managing a small dedicated team. You will work in partnership with both internal and external partners and stakeholders, building and maintaining effective working relationships. You will produce technical and non-technical reports that require analysis and interpretation of data and information, and occasionally present reports to a range of audiences, including elected members.
Experience
- Developing and delivering environmental policies and strategies
- Successfully developing and managing projects and initiatives
- Analysing and interpreting data to produce technical and non-technical reports
- Presenting reports and presentations to diverse audiences
- Working with a range of partners and stakeholders and building effective working relationships
- Managing staff and working both independently and as part of a team
About you
You will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage complex processes, prioritise work within tight timescales, and work effectively under pressure. You will share the Council’s commitment to its values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services that meet the needs of all residents. Demonstrating an understanding of these commitments will be part of the selection process. The ability to speak fluent English is essential for this role.
Qualifications
Relevant environmental qualification(s) or equivalent work experience in an environmental area is required.
