About the Role
Tetra Tech is a leading technical, engineering, and environmental consultancy delivering data-driven water, environment, infrastructure, energy, and international development solutions across the UK and Europe. We are seeking an experienced Water Risk Assessor looking to expand into M&E Asset Surveying to join our Asset Management team. This role involves conducting detailed surveys and assessments of mechanical and electrical assets across various client sites, ensuring professional and exceptional service delivery. You will undertake survey work as directed, collaborate across teams to provide seamless client solutions, and contribute to asset lifecycle and maintenance planning. The role requires compliance with health, safety, and security protocols, including SC clearance preparation and maintenance. You will stay informed on industry best practices and technological advances in M&E systems and asset management, supporting budget forecasting and asset replacement planning.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience as an M&E surveyor or in a similar asset management or building services engineering role, with up to 3 years of direct experience.
- Knowledge and practical experience in conducting water risk assessments including legionella risk assessment.
- Experience preparing detailed water risk assessment reports and liaising with maintenance and compliance teams.
- Conduct in-depth water safety evaluations in line with UK guidelines such as ACOP L8, HSG 274, and HTM/SHTM standards.
- Experience performing comprehensive on-site surveys of mechanical and electrical building services assets including HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection, plumbing, and lifts.
- Proficient in using asset management software and digital survey tools.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems and relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with web-based (database) software platforms.
- Reasonable knowledge of the MEP/building surveying market.
- Experience within outsourced building services or facilities/asset management roles is desirable.
- Change control experience within projects and strong stakeholder relationship management.
- Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in water safety and risk assessment.
- Solid understanding of UK water hygiene regulations.
- Desirable qualifications include City and Guilds or Water Management Society certifications in legionella control and risk assessment of domestic water systems.
- Strong background in building services engineering, either as a tradesperson or through an M&E design career, with excellent knowledge of engineering plant, equipment, and relevant building services standards.
