About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey. As Senior Digital Engineering and BIM Manager, you will support clients and Project Teams by developing and maintaining information requirements and standards, managing processes within a common data environment, and leading the delivery of the information management function for project teams.
You will be responsible for supporting the Project Team throughout the project lifecycle, assessing current project resources to ensure alignment with project goals, and communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Key duties include conducting interviews for BIM roles, developing BIM execution plans (BEP), and creating client digital handover strategies.
You will maintain a thorough understanding of ISO 19650 and other applicable standards, ensure security protocols for information handling, implement governance and assurance processes, and monitor digital handover to completion. Participation in industry events to stay current with BIM developments is expected.
Additional responsibilities include producing information requirements (OIR, AIR, PIR, EIR) per ISO 19650, developing information standards and shared resources, recruiting new BIM talent, researching regulatory compliance, and managing object library development aligned with the wider BIM strategy.
You will oversee assurance and checking of information models, support production of information models (pre-RIBA Stage 3), review Autodesk Construction Cloud account management, and evaluate current and emerging technology solutions to improve BIM processes.
Supporting construction sequencing strategies using information models, assisting the cost team with cost plan preparation, and providing training on databases, data analysis, assurance, COBie production, and other BIM topics are also part of your role. You will upskill client teams, Mace project managers, and design teams through BIM knowledge sharing sessions.
Collaboration with Mace PM and Design teams on procedural compliance with the Mace Way, identifying and implementing continuous improvement plans, managing key senior stakeholders, and fostering internal and external relationships are essential.
Finally, you will work collaboratively towards net zero carbon transition goals, sharing responsibility for identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.
Experience
Proven experience in digital engineering and BIM management, including developing BIM execution plans, managing information requirements, and leading information management functions within construction projects. Experience with ISO 19650 standards and Autodesk Construction Cloud is essential. Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience in conducting interviews and recruiting BIM talent, as well as delivering training and knowledge sharing sessions, is highly desirable.
About you
Committed to safety and wellbeing, with a client-focused mindset and strong integrity. You are proactive, collaborative, and driven to create opportunities for yourself and others to excel. You have excellent communication skills and can influence senior stakeholders effectively. You are adaptable and open to flexible, part-time, or hybrid working arrangements where suitable.
You share Mace’s values of safety first, client focus, integrity, and creating opportunity, and are motivated to contribute to a diverse and inclusive working environment.
