About the Role
This role sits within one of Mace's largest Business Units, Public, Science & Technology. As the Lead BIM Manager on a large-scale construction project in Nottingham, you will support clients and project teams by developing and maintaining information requirements and standards, managing processes within a common data environment, and leading the delivery of the information management function for the project team.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the project team throughout the project lifecycle, assessing resource sufficiency, communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders, conducting candidate interviews for BIM roles, and developing and updating the BIM Execution Plan (BEP). You will also develop the client's digital handover strategy, ensure compliance with ISO19650 and other applicable standards, implement governance and assurance processes, and monitor digital handover to completion.
Additional duties involve producing information requirements and standards, raising job requisitions to recruit BIM talent, researching compliance with new regulations, managing object library development aligned with BIM strategy, assuring and checking information models, and producing information models (Pre-RIBA Stage 3). You will review Autodesk Construction Cloud account management, explore new technology solutions to improve BIM processes, support construction sequencing strategies, and assist the cost team with cost plans derived from information models.
You will provide training on databases, data analysis, template creation, assurance, COBie production, and other BIM-related topics. Upskilling client teams, Mace project managers, and design teams through knowledge sharing sessions is also key. Collaboration with Mace PM and design teams on procedural compliance and continuous improvement plans is expected.
Furthermore, you will develop and maintain internal and external relationships, automate reporting using tools like PowerBI, manage and influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to Mace's net zero carbon transition goals by proactively identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.
