About the Role
Join Arup, an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists with over 75 years of experience shaping a better world. As a Senior Environmental Consultant within the Assessments team of our Climate Change and Sustainability Services business in London, you will deliver environmental impact assessments for projects ranging from major national infrastructure in transport, water and energy sectors to urban development projects. You will work with a diverse client base including private developers, public sector authorities and other organisations in a multi-disciplinary environment alongside environmental, planning, engineering and urban design specialists.
Your responsibilities will include managing the assessment process and technical teams, writing environmental reports such as EIA screening letters, scoping reports and Environmental Statements, reviewing topic reports for compliance with EIA regulations, and undertaking project management activities including programming and budget control. You will liaise with clients and assist with business development and marketing activities, including preparing bids and presentations.

Experience
- Proven ability to project manage environmental impact assessment projects, including managing teams of technical specialists and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Good knowledge of environmental legislation and its application in impact assessments across a range of project types.
- Experience working within a commercial environment, including client liaison, programme and time management, quality assurance and financial control.
- Experience in Energy and/or Water sectors is desirable.
- Experience with the Planning Act 2008 Development Consent Order (DCO) process is desirable.

Qualifications
- Education to degree level, preferably a master's degree.
- Full membership of an appropriate professional institute (e.g. Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) or equivalent).
- Chartered Environmentalist status is desirable but not mandatory.
