About the Role
Building a sustainable tomorrow, BAM UK & Ireland's Infrastructure segment is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Sustainability Advisor with a strong background in carbon management to coordinate the delivery of carbon management activities within our Transport Sector business. Reporting to the Sector Carbon Manager and project Environmental leads, you will manage carbon activities for a range of UK transport infrastructure projects, including a major high speed rail project in southern England. This role involves leading stakeholder engagement to compile whole life carbon impact assessments, identifying and championing carbon reduction opportunities, and delivering carbon management aligned with PAS2080:2023.

You will lead carbon management efforts across multiple projects, acting as the primary liaison for supply chain partners to ensure alignment with BAM’s sustainability strategy. Key responsibilities include opportunity identification and management, chairing regular carbon meetings, developing a comprehensive understanding of carbon reduction opportunities, and collaborating with clients, contractors, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

You will also compile whole life carbon emissions data, prepare reports using client tools, provide analytical support to quantify carbon savings, and ensure compliance with client carbon requirements and contract conditions. You will develop and update Carbon Management Plans and life cycle impact assessment reports, coordinate documentation with stakeholders, and report on project progress and carbon reduction actions.

Championing innovation, you will foster continuous improvement by tracking and sharing best practices, contributing lessons learnt to the wider BAM UK & Ireland business, and delivering carbon-related training and presentations to colleagues and external stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects and drive substantial carbon reductions through innovative and strategic approaches.
