About the Role
Since 1985, Spirit Energy has processed 6.5 trillion cubic feet of gas through our Barrow Gas Terminals, providing heat to 1.5 million homes per year. As a Senior HSE Advisor, you will provide direct, sustainable, and reliable HSE support, guidance, and challenge to operations. You will act as an ambassador for Spirit Energy’s Life Saving and House Rules and HSE expectations, promoting a proactive and generative HSE culture through regular site visits and visible leadership. Your responsibilities will include delivering HSE training, accident and incident investigation, system audits, and advising on best practices.
You will assist the HSE Manager in monitoring and reporting HSE performance, identifying trends, and driving improvement plans. You will help maintain a positive safety culture and behavioural modification tools, support emergency response plans and exercises, and prepare for regulator interventions to ensure compliance. You will ensure Safety Case and COMAH Report requirements are maintained and review work packs for suitability before work commences. Additionally, you will communicate supply chain and contract management expectations to relevant third parties and actively engage during contract execution.
This is an initial one-year contract role based at Barrow with a 2/2 rotation schedule.
Experience
- Proven experience in HSE or an operational/technical discipline.
- Experience across multiple operating and/or project phases.
- Previous work with technically qualified HSE and technical professionals (e.g., Well Engineering, Engineering, Operations).
- Good knowledge of risk management, compliance, and emergency response routines.

Qualifications
- NEBOSH Certificate minimum; NEBOSH Diploma preferred.
- Professional membership of a relevant institute (e.g., IOSH) or working towards it.
- Offshore BOSIET and Medical desirable but not mandatory.
