About the Role
The landscapes we design today will shape how communities experience the world around them for generations to come. At Stantec, we take that responsibility seriously. As one of the world's most sustainable companies, our Landscape Architecture team works at the intersection of environmental ambition and practical delivery. We are recruiting at the Senior, Principal, and Senior Principal Landscape Architect levels, focusing primarily on the Water sector. Our projects include flagship schemes of national importance across the UK and Ireland, such as wetland design, habitat improvements, Sustainable Drainage Systems, and stormwater interventions that deliver real benefits for local communities.
Day-to-day, you will lead a wide variety of project types and scales, providing landscape planning and design input at all pre- and post-planning stages. You will cultivate strong relationships with clients and project teams, contribute to fee proposals, manage discipline tasks, and undertake field and visual survey work across the UK. As a senior team member, you will influence team growth and direction while developing your own expertise within a Registered Practice of the Landscape Institute.
Your work will have lasting impact, whether guiding major infrastructure schemes through planning or designing community assets like wetlands. You will support colleagues and collaborate across disciplines within a team committed to creating exceptional places that genuinely matter.
Experience
Demonstrable experience in landscape design from conceptual stages through to construction (RIBA stages 2 to 4). Experience in preparing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) and appraisals for UK planning applications is advantageous but not essential. Strong working knowledge of environmental planning, UK planning legislation, and EIA regulations is required.
About you
You are a confident communicator who understands client needs, thinks creatively, and provides pragmatic advice under time and budget pressures. You are comfortable liaising with a broad range of stakeholders and managing complex workloads independently. Most importantly, you are a genuine team player who enjoys supporting colleagues and thrives in a collaborative environment. You are motivated by creating exceptional places that leave a lasting legacy for people, communities, and the environment.
Qualifications
You hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Landscape Architecture or a related subject and are ideally a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.
