We are seeking a Senior or Principal Traffic Signals Engineer to join our Traffic Signals Design team. This role involves leading the day-to-day technical delivery of highway consultancy services throughout all stages of the project life-cycle, from feasibility and concept design through to planning, detailed design, construction, and post-commissioning support. Building strong, trusted client relationships and proactively managing their expectations will be key. You will undertake project technical lead and reviewer roles, support others to maximise their contributions, prepare fee proposals, manage budgets, and be responsible for the development and delivery of project solutions.

Additionally, you will lead and manage junior staff in delivering traffic signal design packages including design drawings, standard construction details, specifications, controller configurations, MOVA datasets, FAT/SAT, and more. You will ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental Legislation, and in-house quality assurance standards and processes.

Joining the Liveable Places team, you will work with a wide range of local authority and private clients across the UK, delivering schemes that include public realm, traffic engineering, road safety, traffic signals, pedestrian/traffic modelling, active travel, and parking. This role offers excellent career development opportunities through exposure to diverse projects and the chance to play a pivotal role in the team’s growth and success.
