About the Role
Are you ready to make a real difference? At Veolia, we are committed to Ecological Transformation and are looking for a Senior Process Engineer or Process Engineer with demonstrable experience in industrial and/or municipal water and wastewater treatment. You will support technical and process activities across existing wastewater and water operational contracts, Technical Services contracts, and new contract developments alongside our business development teams. This role involves travel across the UK and focuses on driving continuous improvement and value engineering through innovative solutions.
Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting operational processes, process validation, utilising modelling tools and process calculations to predict performance, creating business cases, and demonstrating project potential. You will communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, draft compelling proposals and reports, and present confidently at all levels from technical reviews to client meetings.
You will plan your workload autonomously, managing multiple complex projects with competing deadlines while providing expert technical leadership that directly impacts business performance. Mentoring and providing technical leadership to process engineers, graduate engineers, operators, and performance analysts will be key. You will build Veolia's reputation as a 'Water Technical Expert' by delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions, leading technical workshops and negotiations, and representing the company at industry events.
Embedding sustainability principles into all water operations is essential, optimising energy, chemical usage, and resource recovery while quantifying environmental benefits to align with Veolia's Depollution, Decarbonising, and Water Stewardship goals.

Experience
Demonstrable experience in operational water and/or wastewater treatment process control and optimisation, including working with UK water companies. Proven ability to apply value engineering and optimisation principles to develop cost-effective and innovative solutions.
About you
A team player with strong problem-solving skills, adaptable to changing circumstances. Organised and able to consistently meet project deadlines. Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences. Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel across the UK, sometimes at short notice.
Qualifications
Degree in a relevant engineering or technical subject such as Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
