About the Role
We are seeking three Senior Project Managers to lead and deliver exciting, innovative projects primarily related to flood risk management. Initially, you will focus on the Lincolnshire Coastal Protection Programme. This senior role within Projects & Programme Delivery (PPD) involves managing the project delivery process from strategic planning, feasibility, detailed design, construction through to handover. You will work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, client representatives, technical specialists, and partners to build high performing teams and foster a positive working environment. Applying strong commercial acumen in project, contract, and risk management, you will make key project decisions informed by technical leads while adhering to governance, project assurance, and legislation. Developing resilient relationships with stakeholders such as statutory authorities, landowners, and local communities to negotiate agreements, consents, approvals, and external funding is essential. The role includes participation in incident response duties as part of supporting communities and protecting the environment.
The Team
The PCM-Midlands hub is led by a Delivery Manager overseeing approximately 80 staff, supported by Programme Specialists, Programme Managers, and Project Team Managers (PTM). PTMs manage 8-15 Project Executives, Project Managers, and Project Support Officers who deliver projects within the flood & coastal erosion risk management programme. The integrated delivery teams also include commercial, environmental, asset management, financial, estates, and legal professionals.
Experience
- Extensive experience in programme management, project delivery, and contract management, ideally within engineering, construction, and/or flood & coastal risk management.
- High level of experience in project and/or contract management.
- Technical expertise in feasibility assessment, asset management, business case development, cost monitoring/forecasting, scope preparation, CDM, engineering design, and construction.
- Experience in a Project Executive role would be beneficial.

Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, environmental science, geography, or a related discipline.
- Ideally chartered membership of a professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, or APMP.
