About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to join BakerHicks, supporting the expansion of our Land Quality and Geo-Environmental capability across the UK. Whether based in London or Motherwell, you will play an important role in strengthening our regional presence. In London, this includes helping establish and grow a team. In Motherwell, you will contribute to the continued development of an expanding capability. The role offers a mix of technical delivery, mentoring, and team development with exposure to a wide range of projects across the UK. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing Geo-Environmental team and be involved in establishing or strengthening regional teams.

Experience
Essential experience within a Geo-Environmental or Engineering Consultancy at Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer or equivalent level. Proven track record delivering Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports and risk assessments. Strong understanding of ground investigation techniques and sampling methods. Familiarity with current UK standards and guidance. Commercial awareness including budgets and delivery timelines. Full UK driving licence.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams. Motivated to contribute to team growth and development. Ability to mentor and support junior staff. Enthusiastic about working on diverse projects across the UK.
Qualifications
Chartered membership (SocEnv, Geological Society, CIWEM or similar). Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Applied Geology or related discipline.
Desirable
Experience with Materials Management Plans. Familiarity with soil classification tools such as HazWasteOnline or WM3. Experience contributing to fee proposals. Sector experience in aviation, infrastructure, nuclear, or life sciences.
