About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and improve waste services for local residents across East and North Hertfordshire. You will use data, project management, and collaborative working to support service improvement, monitor performance, and deliver positive outcomes for our communities. Your responsibilities will include progressing the development of waste management IT systems, online reporting tools, dashboards, and managing complex datasets.
A key part of your role will be managing performance reporting by developing dashboards, analysing complex datasets, and identifying service trends to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement. Working closely with contractors, software providers, and internal teams, you will ensure our systems are robust, user-friendly, and aligned with strategic goals.
This role combines performance management, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys using information to solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
Experience
You will have experience working in a performance, project, business improvement, or operational role, with a strong understanding of how data, systems, and processes support effective service delivery. Confidence in analysing performance information, identifying trends, and producing meaningful reports and dashboards to support decision-making and service improvement is essential. Experience with performance reporting tools such as Power BI or similar systems is advantageous.
You will bring experience in delivering projects and managing change, working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and software providers to improve systems and services. A good understanding of business systems, data quality, and process improvement is essential, along with experience working with waste management systems and supporting system integrations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Knowledge of financial processes including reconciliation and income monitoring within operational services is advantageous. Knowledge of GIS mapping and digital self-service platforms is also beneficial.
