About the Role
National Grid Interconnectors plays a vital role in the UK’s transition to a net zero energy future by operating HVDC Interconnectors that connect the UK’s energy system with neighbouring countries, enabling energy import and export. We are expanding our portfolio with new projects to meet future demands for greener energy solutions.
We are recruiting a Site Supervisor to join the Interconnector Construction Directorate, responsible for the safe delivery of Capex projects related to the lifetime strategy of the IFA interconnector in Sellindge. You will represent National Grid Ventures on construction projects, ensuring adherence to CDM regulations, safe working practices, and quality workmanship by contractors.
This varied role offers you the autonomy to apply your expertise to support safe project delivery. As the ‘boots on the ground’, you will monitor contractor performance, ensure their RAMS are suitable and sufficient, and lead by example to maintain safety and quality standards. You will assist the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor with commercial claim responses and foster a collaborative environment across the supply chain and on-site operations team.
You will create an atmosphere of trust where all opinions are valued and used to drive continuous improvement through fair and honest communication.
Experience
- Proven knowledge and application of CDM, Safety, and Environmental Regulations
- Understanding of the Electricity Transmission System
- Experience in analysing data and making informed decisions
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and collaborative problem solving
- Experience in developing teams and delivering high-quality results

Qualifications
