About the Role
As a Smart Meter Reporting and Data Analyst, you will play a central role in driving the success of our Smart Metering project and achieving our Performance Commitment Delivery (PCD) targets. You will transform complex smart meter data into actionable insights that identify critical trends, reduce customer demand, and tackle leakage. Managing end-to-end reporting across household and non-household properties, you will ensure data accuracy, maintain regulatory compliance, and collaborate closely with internal teams and installation partners to streamline the rollout. You will proactively enhance analytical tools and deliver agile, ad-hoc insights to support continuous improvement across the business.

Main responsibilities include analysing comprehensive datasets to drive water efficiency and demand reduction, developing and maintaining reporting dashboards using advanced technology, presenting data-driven recommendations to influence interventions and long-term strategy, collaborating with Insights and data teams to ensure technical alignment, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance customer journey accuracy and efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and effectively managing stakeholders with commercial awareness. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as the team evolves.

Requirements

Experience
Experience within the water industry is highly desirable, though candidates with transferable knowledge or skills from related utility sectors such as gas, electricity, or telecommunications will be considered. Essential experience includes using SQL, Business Objects, Google reporting tools, and advanced Excel skills.

About you
You are analytical with the ability to interpret large datasets and draw conclusions that inform water efficiency programmes. You are reliable and adaptable, able to prioritise data requirements in line with business needs and present findings effectively. You communicate data conclusions clearly and translate them into actionable recommendations. You are proactive in improving existing processes and reporting techniques, possess strong problem-solving skills, and work well as a team player across multiple functions to deliver reporting and analytical requirements.

Qualifications
Educated to GCSE/O-Level Grade A–C standard or equivalent, or demonstrable experience in a similar role evidencing equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.
