About the Role
Hill Group is seeking a Social Value & Community Manager to lead the delivery of social value and community engagement across multiple regional projects in the Western and South West region. Acting as a key connection between Hill, clients, residents, and community partners, you will ensure projects meet and exceed social value KPIs while maintaining a positive experience for local communities. You will develop delivery plans, manage data collection, support bids, and lead resident communications, embedding Hill’s Social Value strategy at project level and strengthening our reputation for building better places.

Key responsibilities include building strong relationships with clients, local partners, residents, and internal teams; maintaining a professional presence as the first point of contact for residents; representing Hill at external meetings and forums; encouraging supply chain partners to contribute to social value outcomes and monitoring their performance; and promoting Hill’s values and behaviours in all interactions.

You will treat community and resident relationships as a valuable part of Hill’s long-term success, ensure project teams are briefed on key issues and resident matters, contribute to improving Hill’s community engagement strategy by sharing insights, challenges and opportunities, and help ensure all communications are inclusive, accessible and aligned with Hill’s tone of voice.

Technical duties include delivering regional social value and community programmes aligned with project and group-level KPIs; developing project delivery plans including timelines, partner engagement and reporting milestones; designing and implementing community initiatives that leave a meaningful and lasting legacy; collecting, managing, and reporting real-time data, images and stories using tools such as Impact Reporting, Social Value Portal and HACT Social Value Insight; preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports for clients and internal stakeholders; liaising with Bid and Development teams to supply case studies, best practice examples and bid input; ensuring S.106 and local authority obligations are delivered effectively and on time; organising and chairing community meetings, events and resident briefings including outside standard hours when needed; responding to resident concerns quickly and empathetically; logging all resident correspondence on the internal platform Clixifix; providing regular updates to project teams on local engagement and social value performance; updating project web-based development pages quarterly; supporting internal communications and social media teams with positive stories and impact content; tracking and managing spend against Social Value or Community Chest budgets; and identifying and applying for match funding or grants to extend programme reach.
