About the Role
The Woodland Trust is seeking a Software Developer to create impactful, user-focused digital solutions that support our mission. This role is central to designing, building, and maintaining public-facing websites that improve efficiency and enhance the experience for our supporters and beneficiaries. You will combine technical expertise with purpose to deliver high-quality, accessible solutions. Working closely with stakeholders and team members, you will understand requirements and deliver user-centric solutions. You will participate in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to contribute to continuous improvement. Ensuring code quality through peer reviews, quality assurance, and adherence to best practices will be key. Additionally, you will contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team. This role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, primarily remote with occasional visits to our Grantham office.

Experience
- Proficient in C# and .NET for web applications and APIs
- Knowledge of security best practices and OWASP principles
- Experience in front-end development including HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript, with ability to work with modern frameworks or libraries
- Strong communication skills to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with source control systems including branching, merging, and pull requests
- Experience working with cloud hosting environments, preferably Azure, with support from infrastructure teams
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Experience with SQL, querying databases, and maintaining simple stored procedures
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2)
- Strong prioritisation skills with ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
