About the Role
Valoris Group Limited, in partnership with Smart Energy Homes, is recruiting an experienced Solar PV Electrician to support the growth of solar installation operations across Wales. Smart Energy Homes focus on reducing fuel poverty, lowering carbon emissions, and helping customers reduce energy bills through high-quality renewable energy solutions including commercial solar PV projects, private able-to-pay installations, and government-backed schemes such as ECO4.

As a Solar PV Electrician, you will install solar photovoltaic systems on residential and commercial projects, working alongside installation teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery. Approximately 20% of your time will involve quality audits, compliance checks, and installation reviews to maintain standards.

Key responsibilities include installing rooftop, ground-mounted, and off-grid Solar PV systems; wiring and connecting solar panels, inverters, batteries, and system components; carrying out basic domestic electrical works such as socket, lighting, and DMEV installations; completing ASHP electrical supply runs; undertaking consumer unit work and repairs; fault finding and providing technical support; supporting and guiding junior electricians and apprentices; conducting quality audits; and maintaining professional communication with customers. All work must comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company procedures, with strict adherence to health and safety requirements.

Experience
- Qualified Electrician with 18th Edition
- Minimum 3 years' electrical experience
- Strong Solar PV installation experience
- Knowledge of renewable energy or renewable heating
- Experience in field-based operations
- Good understanding of domestic and commercial electrical works
- Confident fault-finding ability
