About the Role
As a Transfer Station Supervisor, you will plan and deliver day-to-day operations including plant availability, staffing levels, resources, and maintenance tasks. You will carry out site inspections and monitor compliance with VMR and permit requirements, follow fire watch and heat monitoring procedures, and ensure material inputs and outputs meet quality standards. You will manage waste flows, transport bookings, and ensure all outgoing loads have the correct paperwork such as Annex 7’s and TransFrontierShipment documentation. You will provide feedback on close calls and safety reports, manage and close out events, and have the authority to stop work to address safety issues.

You will supervise and operate the front loading shovel and 360-degree excavator safely and competently upon completion of relevant training. Routine maintenance and cleaning of mobile plant and equipment, including oil and water checks and defect reporting, will be part of your responsibilities. You will liaise with site personnel, contractors, tipping authorities, and haulage department members to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, you will control vehicle movements, supervise and operate the weighbridge, and ensure outgoing material weights are maximised.

Experience
Previous experience within a similar operational environment is essential.

About you
You will be responsible, safety-conscious, and able to manage multiple operational tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders are important.

Qualifications
Mobile Plant licence(s) for loading shovel or 360 excavator
Full UK driving licence
