About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Sustainability Consultant to join our national Advisory team based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to strengthen our department and further develop the business by working closely with existing clients and developing new business. The successful candidate will manage the entire BREEAM certification process from initiation to close out, proactively develop new sustainability project opportunities, and acquire new clients to grow the service stream. Responsibilities include producing reports and guidance notes, ensuring quality and standards are met or exceeded, delivering sustainability workshops, hosting project design and client meetings, and managing a challenging and varying workload. The role requires identifying project risks and implementing mitigation measures, undertaking BREEAM site inspections during construction, ensuring compliance with Quality Assurance and Health and Safety legislation, and providing guidance on regulatory changes impacting the built environment. The consultant will also assist with BREEAM-related bid and tender preparation, liaise with the Sustainability Manager to improve integration of sustainability services, and demonstrate flexibility to meet business and project deadlines.

Requirements

Experience
- Qualified BREEAM NC 2014 assessor with at least 3 years’ experience delivering BREEAM New Construction assessments from pre-assessment to certification
- Experience submitting high quality written reports to BRE Quality Assurance
- Awareness of sustainability standards including BREEAM schemes, WELL Building Standard (qualification preferred), SKA, LEED
- Understanding of relevant legislation impacting sustainability and construction
- Highly organised with strong project management skills, able to plan ahead and prioritise conflicting demands to meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and high standard of written English
- Understanding of building services terms and technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (not essential for London)

Qualifications
- Well Certified Assessor or detailed understanding of the WELL Standard (desirable)
- Educated to degree level preferably in architectural, sustainability, environmental or construction discipline (desirable)
- Willingness to undergo further training on sustainability standards such as LEED/WELL as required
- BREEAM AP qualified (desirable)
- Proficient in BREEAM management software such as IES TAP and Tracker+ (desirable)
