About the Role
Embark on an exciting career with the UK's largest Wildlife Trust Consultancy, Middlemarch, and help protect our natural environment while supporting nature's recovery. We are at a pivotal moment in our history, having adopted a three-year Strategic Development Plan focused on ambitious growth and delivering the best outcomes for nature, alongside being a great place to work. We are seeking a Team Leader to support our Northern regional team and help deliver this strategy.

As Team Leader, you will be a key decision-maker working closely with senior management to support company and people growth. Core responsibilities include people management and development, resource allocation, client and project management, budget development and delivery, and quality assurance. You will support business development activities to expand the Northern region’s project portfolio while ensuring high standards and effective delivery.

This role requires adherence to a culture of continuous improvement and active support of Middlemarch’s mission and vision, aligned with our parent charity, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. While a background in ecology is desirable, the most important skill is the ability to successfully manage and grow a geographically dispersed team, keeping colleagues motivated, engaged, and connected.

The successful candidate will have experience in a customer-focused consultancy environment, adept at designing and delivering projects from bid stage through delivery and beyond. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and report writing abilities are essential, along with a proactive attitude to problem-solving.

We offer 24 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays, increasing to 35 days at Senior Management Team level, a discretionary annual bonus scheme up to 10% of salary, paid overtime and TOIL, life insurance, an employee assistance program, and extensive training and development support. Reasonable adjustments during application or interview can be accommodated upon request.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience managing and growing teams, ideally within a customer-focused consultancy setting. Experience designing and delivering projects from bid to completion is essential.

About you
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage a remote, geographically dispersed team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Positive, proactive attitude with strong problem-solving and report writing skills. Commitment to continuous improvement and alignment with organisational values.

Qualifications
A background in ecology is desirable but not essential. Relevant qualifications or experience in consultancy, project management, or team leadership will be advantageous.
