£25,775.88 per year (£12.71 per hour, at least the national minimum wage for 21 and over)
About the Role
The Royal Parks Horticultural Apprenticeship Scheme is an ideal way to begin a career in horticulture and open space management. This 3-year apprenticeship combines college-based learning with unrivalled workplace training in one of London's historic Royal Parks. You will spend most of your time working on-site, gaining hands-on experience and developing your skills in a highly skilled team.
Day-to-day tasks include shrub bed maintenance, hedge trimming, planting bedding, shrubs and trees, grass cutting, planting area and bedding maintenance, weed control, general gardening, litter and leaf collection, playground marking, tree surgery, spraying chemicals (subject to qualification), driving (subject to qualification and authorisation), ad-hoc soft landscaping, and involvement in events and ceremonies within The Royal Parks. You will also assist with sports pitch management and floral displays.
Apprentices will be supported by The Royal Parks Guild and attend masterclass days and celebration events. Coursework is completed through day release at Capel Manor Regent's Park campus.
Experience
Previous relevant qualifications or industry experience is welcomed and the apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect your existing knowledge.

Qualifications
Desirable GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4 or equivalent or above). Other relevant qualifications will be considered.
