About the Role
The Royal Parks Horticultural Apprenticeship Scheme offers an exceptional opportunity to start a career in horticulture and open space management. This 3-year apprenticeship combines college-based learning with hands-on workplace training in one of London's historic Royal Parks. You will gain practical experience working on a variety of park-based tasks including shrub bed maintenance, hedge trimming, planting bedding, shrubs and trees, grass cutting, weed control, general gardening, litter and leaf collection, playground marking, tree surgery, and soft landscaping. Subject to qualification and authorisation, you may also undertake spraying of chemicals and driving duties. You will work as part of a skilled team maintaining the landscape of one of the UK's most famous parks, supporting sports pitch management, floral displays, and involvement in events and ceremonies within The Royal Parks. Apprentices will be supported by The Royal Parks Guild and attend masterclass days and celebration events. Coursework is delivered through day release at Capel Manor Regent's Park campus.
