Glennon Brothers supplies a wide range of timber products to the Irish and UK markets, serving the construction, pallet wood and fencing industries. The Group also manufactures timber frame homes and engineered roof trusses for the housebuilding sector and operates several combined heat and power (CHP) and wood pellet manufacturing facilities. Following the acquisition of Pontrilas in January 2026, the Group has significantly increased its turnover and expanded its workforce to over 1,400 colleagues.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in supporting the safe, effective and compliant operation of maintenance and improvement activities across site operations. The role provides hands-on technical support ensuring planned and reactive maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards, while supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement. The Maintenance Engineer acts as a key interface between operations and maintenance providing high standards of safety and performance.
Experience
- Time-served Electrical qualification with relevant trade certification and/or apprenticeship.
- Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including motors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment, instrumentation and automation interfaces.
- Extensive understanding of electrical safety standards, lock-out/tag-out and permit-to-work systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience supporting preventative maintenance programmes and fault-finding in live production environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
