About the Role
As a Tractor Driver/Craftsperson, you will work as part of a beat or unit team within the District’s woodlands, open habitats, or recreation sites. Your role involves completing a wide range of management tasks to help meet beat and District work commitments, health and safety responsibilities, and ongoing routine maintenance tasks. You will contribute to the sustainable management of a 21,000-hectare estate, supporting the creation of amazing places and experiences, providing vital homes for wildlife, producing sustainable timber, and improving air quality. This role is key to ensuring these forests continue to thrive for future generations while balancing public benefits such as wildlife conservation, recreation, timber production, and carbon capture.
Experience
You will be assessed on your relevant experience and career history through a written statement and during the interview process. Experience working in forestry, land management, or a related field is advantageous.

The role requires a responsible approach to health and safety and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. Qualifications
There are no specific qualifications required; however, you will be assessed on behaviours including Managing a Quality Service, Delivering at Pace, and Working Together. Successful candidates will undergo a criminal record check and government baseline personnel security standard check. The ability to communicate accurately in spoken English is essential.
