About the Role
As a Transfer Station Manager at Veolia, you will oversee all transfer station operations including HWRRC, Weighbridge, and the management of waste storage and logistics. You will manage waste transportation and processing logistics, develop and implement weekly and monthly operational plans to drive efficiency and meet performance targets, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. You will monitor performance against KPIs, identify opportunities for innovation, cost-saving improvements, and revenue generation. You will be fully accountable for approximately 40 Transfer Station and Logistics staff, supervising, coaching, and developing team members to maintain high performance standards. Leading with visible, authentic leadership, you will inspire and motivate your team while planning resource allocation, training needs, and workforce development. You will hold full responsibility for all QHSE matters within the department, undertake and oversee Health & Safety investigations, and ensure compliance with Veolia Management Requirements and regulatory standards through audits and statutory reporting. Creating a safety-first culture where everyone feels empowered to speak up is essential. You will develop and propose annual budgets in collaboration with the Plant Manager and senior leadership, support contractual negotiations, and drive cost-saving solutions and revenue generation while maintaining operational excellence.
Experience
Proven track record leading operational teams in waste transfer or similar industrial environments. Strong safety leadership with knowledge of process safety management and incident prevention. Thorough understanding of waste management regulations, Veolia Management Requirements (VMR), and Environmental Permit conditions. Experience developing and managing operational budgets and financial controls.
