WSP's Transport & Mobility team are looking to recruit a Transport Planner (or an Assistant Transport Planner) to join our team in Guildford. As a Transport Planner at WSP you will have the opportunity to support a wide range of transport projects across the business. You will work across modes to develop transport strategies, policies and business cases, and support the development of transport programmes and projects from inception through to completion.
This is a varied role with responsibilities including: contributing to a variety of Transport Planning projects and proposals (both technical and commercial inputs), and delivering high quality outputs in line with client requirements; working as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside other WSP service lines to deliver large multi-disciplinary projects from concept to delivery; playing a supporting role in securing and delivering work for our diverse local client portfolio; contributing to the financial performance of your projects and the commercial performance of our team; and making an active contribution to WSP's four key pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Expertise).
You will have an opportunity to work collaboratively with our Net Zero, Future Mobility and Freight growth areas on a range of innovative strategies for our public sector clients, as well as our extensive range of expertise practice groups, including Public Transport, Active Travel and Transport Communications.
Our team undertakes a wide range of transport planning technical work for our clients, including active travel solutions; public transport network planning; scheme development and appraisal; business case development and Government funding applications for all types of transport schemes. Our clients include Local Authorities, National Government Organisations and private sector organisations, providing opportunities to work across multiple disciplines and realise your career aspirations.
The team is based in Guildford - in London Square, close to the London Road Train Station.
Experience
Prior experience in transport and mobility planning and design, and transport data analysis. Experience working with Local Authority and Combined Authority clients. Familiarity with software packages such as TRICS, Junction 10 and LinSIG. Understanding of project management skills developed across a range of transport and multi-disciplinary projects.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in transport planning, engineering, or related disciplines are desirable but not explicitly stated. Candidates who do not meet all criteria are encouraged to apply as experience alignment will be considered.
