About the Role

The Digital Solutions entity of SUEZ offers innovative digital tools to enhance operational performance and reduce environmental impact. Joining the Strategic Support Team (SST) at Optimatics, you will work at the forefront of applying optimisation and machine learning to water systems. You will support clients in using Optimizer™ and AssetAdvanced™ software to optimise planning decisions for water infrastructure networks. Your role includes assisting, educating, and guiding users, delivering pilot applications, and contributing to product development. This position requires collaboration with clients and diverse teams, requiring excellent communication skills and a strong technical background.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and guide utility and consultant engineers in applying Optimizer™ and AssetAdvanced™ software
- Deliver user trainings and ongoing education
- Provide strategic insights for customers’ planning efforts
- Assist with hydraulic model and input data review and preparation
- Deliver pilot implementations and applications of software
- Explore new application opportunities and identify strategies for improved user experience and automation
- Contribute to product development by testing new functionality and assisting with documentation
- Travel to current and potential customers as appropriate
Experience
- Minimum BSc/BEng in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- At least 1 year of professional experience in the water sector
- Chartered Member of a recognised engineering institution or working towards chartership
- Experience with water utility networks, including collection and distribution systems
- Distribution/transmission system modelling experience (e.g. EPANET, WaterGEMS, InfoWorks WS Pro)
- Collection system H&H modelling experience with InfoWorks ICM or similar software (EPASWMM, MIKE 1D)
- Proficient in GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS and/or QGIS
- Advanced data analysis skills including coding or data visualization software

Qualifications
- Understanding of public utility asset management challenges and projects is preferred
- Knowledge of optimisation techniques and their application to water systems
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby is advantageous
- Data science experience including data interpretation and visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI)
- Experience working on international and multilingual projects
