Our Project, Commercial & Programme Management (PMCM) business is supporting some of the UK's most important water and environmental infrastructure programmes. As investment across the water sector continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join our expanding team and support the delivery of projects for water companies and infrastructure clients across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their project management career who is looking to build their experience within a leading consultancy. You will work alongside experienced Project Managers, technical specialists and client teams, helping to deliver projects that improve water quality, increase resilience and support sustainable communities.

As part of our PMCM team, you will:
- Support the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects through all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Assist with project planning, programme management, reporting, risk management and project controls activities.
- Support the administration of NEC contracts and project governance processes.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, design teams and other stakeholders to help ensure successful project outcomes.
- Monitor project performance, including cost, schedule, risks and actions.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, meeting minutes and progress updates.
- Contribute to the delivery of major capital investment programmes across the regulated water sector.
- Champion best practice in health and safety, quality, sustainability and continuous improvement.
- Develop your project management skills through mentoring, training and exposure to a wide variety of projects.

Requirements

Experience
Experience working in a project support, project coordination, assistant project management or similar role within a consultancy, engineering or infrastructure environment. Exposure to the water sector, utilities sector or wider infrastructure projects would be highly desirable.

About you
You should demonstrate a proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery with excellent organisational and communication skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence when engaging with clients and project teams are essential. You must have strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in developing a long-term career within the water and infrastructure sector is important. Commitment to health, safety, sustainability and continuous professional development is required.

Qualifications
A degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Environmental Science or a related field. Progress towards a recognised project management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards one.
