About the Role
Are you passionate about improving the environmental performance of infrastructure development projects? Join AECOM as an Associate Director in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and lead multidisciplinary environmental inputs to large-scale development projects that are shaping the future of UK infrastructure and supporting net zero goals. You will work across diverse sectors including energy generation (carbon capture, hydrogen, renewables), energy distribution, rail, highways, regeneration, ecommerce, minerals and waste, water, defence, aviation, commercial, residential and industrial developments. This role involves managing projects under multiple consenting regimes such as DCO, TCPA, TWA and hybrid Bills, collaborating daily with technical experts within our established Environmental Impact team. As a founding member of the IEMA EIA Quality Mark, AECOM is committed to high standards and aligns all work with our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. You will lead preparation of EIA screening letters, Scoping Reports and Environmental Statements, manage resources and budgets, work closely with integrated design teams to identify environmental constraints and develop mitigation solutions, support business development, and mentor staff. Experience
- Proven track record managing EIA projects and environmental assessment methods
- Experience with applicable planning legislation and consenting regimes (DCO, TWAO)
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary environmental inputs and work collaboratively with specialist teams
- Confident engagement with diverse stakeholder groups
- Strong project management skills including staff resource and budget oversight

Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant environmental discipline, preferably a Masters degree
- Appropriate professional membership
- Chartered Environmentalist status desirable
- Interest in line management and staff mentoring responsibilities
