About the Role
Join AECOM's Impact Assessment team in Birmingham for a graduate position starting between June and September 2026. The team is part of the Environment business, delivering environment and sustainability solutions across the UK and Republic of Ireland. You will contribute to multidisciplinary environmental inputs for infrastructure projects, helping clients gain development consent, identify environmental constraints, avoid impacts, and develop sustainable solutions. Responsibilities include coordinating environmental assessment reports and providing post-planning consent support during project construction and operation. Key projects focus on sustainable energy generation, transmission, and water distribution. This role requires inquisitive thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve environmentally beneficial outcomes. You will receive on-the-job support and mentoring, participate in the two-year ADVANCE Graduate Development Programme, and have opportunities for professional development and potential Chartership with relevant institutions.

Experience
No prior professional experience is required; this role is designed for recent graduates eager to learn and develop within the environmental impact assessment field.

Qualifications
- A relevant first degree, and potentially a relevant postgraduate degree, in subjects such as environmental impact assessment, environmental economics, environmental management, environmental planning, environmental policy, environmental science, geography, sustainable development, social science, or related fields
- Good understanding of digital solutions to support environmental and sustainability challenges
- Strong research and report writing skills, including web-based research
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Full driving licence or access to reliable transport is beneficial but not essential
