About the Role
Stantec is a leading multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy with a strong Environmental Consulting Community of Practice. We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Geo-environmental Consultant to join our established ground engineering team based in Reading. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary projects as part of our regional development capability and be part of a national community of ground engineering professionals. Our team provides contaminated land, geotechnical, and geo-hazard consultancy services to the land development and infrastructure sectors, working holistically to deliver value-driven solutions. You will be involved in the investigation, assessment, remediation, and redevelopment of brownfield land, supporting internal teams on road, rail, infrastructure, and energy projects. This role requires taking day-to-day responsibility for project delivery, ensuring technical quality, budget adherence, and programme management. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, sub-contractors, and other professionals. Experience
Extensive postgraduate experience in land quality assessment and contaminated site management within a consulting environment. Proven ability to design, manage, and supervise ground investigations, interpret soil, water, and gas data, and produce comprehensive risk assessments and reports including GQRA, and ideally DQRA and EIA. Experience in related disciplines such as hydrogeology, geotechnics, and earthworks is a significant advantage. Demonstrated experience in managing projects within budget and providing technical leadership to junior team members. Ability to write clear and persuasive proposals.

Qualifications
A degree in a relevant field such as geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, or environmental science is required, with a highly preferred postgraduate qualification. Professional accreditation is essential; you should be chartered or actively working towards chartership with a recognised professional body. Additional certifications such as SoBRA, RoGEP, or CL:AIRE DoW:CoP are highly valued.
