About the Role
This Billing Analyst role, reporting to the Billing and Agreements Manager within the Finance directorate, plays a key part in managing the day-to-day activities that generate the majority of UK Power Networks' £2 billion annual income. You will be the in-house expert on billing, working with complex data and scenarios, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory expectations.

Your responsibilities will include preparing, raising, and issuing invoices to electricity suppliers and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs), promptly allocating bank payments, chasing outstanding balances, and managing penalties for non-payment. You will maintain and update standing data with high attention to detail to ensure alignment with industry systems.

You will analyse large datasets to support billing queries, dispute resolution, and investigate data anomalies. Working across two billing engines as part of the Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) transition, you will ensure accuracy and consistency in a dual-system environment and resolve an increased volume of standing-data queries.

Managing relationships with 220 electricity suppliers and IDNOs, you will act as a primary point of contact for billing matters and collaborate with senior management to provide insights supporting decision-making. You will also work closely with Pricing and Contract Management Teams to ensure account set-up accuracy, participate in system testing for industry-led changes and user-driven enhancements, and engage with vendors to resolve system issues.

This role requires a strong eye for detail, confidence working with complex data, and clear communication skills to liaise effectively with external stakeholders and internal leadership. Your analytical capability and commitment to accuracy will be essential to ensure efficient and correct billing processes.
