About the Role
ABM Facility Services UK is seeking full-time permanent Cleaning/Waste Operatives to join a high-profile client site in Darlington. This role involves working as part of a motivated janitorial and waste removal team in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment. Key duties include providing high-quality janitorial services internally and externally across welfare areas such as washrooms, break rooms, canteens, social areas including reception, offices, locker rooms, and production areas including the main production floor.

Responsibilities also include handling waste via approved waste streams, ensuring it is prepared for transportation, and operating cleaning equipment such as walk-behind and ride-on sweepers and scrubber-dryers. The role requires maintaining all equipment in a clean, well-maintained, and safe working order.

Operatives must respond promptly to spillages and client callouts, communicate effectively with team members and management, and comply with Health & Safety legislation by wearing appropriate PPE. The role demands the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills. Full training on cleaning methods and equipment will be provided.

Experience
No prior experience required, but knowledge of cleaning methods or a willingness to learn is essential. Ability to work in a physically active role and under pressure is important.
