About the Role
Due to the continued importance of climate change as a key issue for built development and major infrastructure, we are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our team. You will work across the Town & Country Planning and Development Consent Order regimes, supporting a strong pipeline of major applications across sectors including renewable energy, transport, urban regeneration, and new communities. These projects require climate change impact assessments as part of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The role will focus heavily on climate change assessment to support UK consenting regimes, with opportunities to provide strategic advice on climate change mitigation and adaptation.

You will work closely with project teams, guiding projects at pre-application and determination stages on carbon management and climate change. Responsibilities include undertaking greenhouse gas emission assessments for Environmental Statements and planning documents, climate change adaptation and resilience assessments, inputting to carbon management plans, carbon accounting (scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions), managing and delivering work to programme and budget, coaching junior staff, identifying growth opportunities, conducting research, producing high-quality reports, preparing thought leadership content, and attending site visits and project meetings.

Stantec offers a friendly, inclusive, and supportive culture with high support and challenge, encouraging personal and professional growth with genuine career opportunities based on merit.
