This role will be working for a local authority client in the North West of England and will be dedicated to Highways maintenance. The team is responsible for delivering reactive, preventative and planned maintenance activities, working closely with the asset management team. They undertake maintenance interventions identified through asset management processes to preserve the condition of the highway network and prevent deterioration before more extensive and costly repairs are required.
The highways planned maintenance team develops and delivers programmes of preventative and structural maintenance across the highway network. This includes carriageway resurfacing, surface treatments, footway improvements, drainage works, and other asset maintenance activities designed to extend the life of highway infrastructure. Using condition data, inspections, and asset management principles, the team identifies priorities, programmes works, manages budgets, and oversees scheme delivery. By investing in planned maintenance, the team helps maintain safe and reliable roads and footways, reduces the need for more costly reactive repairs, and supports the long-term sustainability of the highway network.
As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for applying health and safety expertise across project delivery, supporting construction delivery and senior project leadership, building trusted client and stakeholder relationships, delivering assigned structures and fit-out packages safely, supporting strategy and sustainable business outcomes, developing colleagues through knowledge sharing and collaboration, and driving innovation, best practice and technical excellence.
Experience
5+ years’ commercial experience within highways, infrastructure or construction environments. Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, tendering and procurement.

Qualifications
